Nathan May
Bass :
Nathan lives in New Market, VA with his also musically talented wife, Melodie. Nathan’s musical talents became evident to the public when he sang a solo in front of his school at age 7. Since then he has remained active in church, school & social events through music.
Throughout his high school years, Nathan began to creatively use his voice in many venues. He, Joel Ross, & Jared Stoltzfus participated in a Barbershop quartet. He also dedicated himself to the music department at Eastern Mennonite High School where he sang in every vocal ensemble, and was selected to sing in District Chorus 3 years straight and State Chorus by his junior year.
Nathan attended Roanoke College for the first year of his undergraduate education. When he was not participating in ensembles, he filled the rest of his time with an a cappella group known as "Looking for an Echo." After his freshman year, Nathan transferred to Messiah College where he finished his undergraduate studies and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. He also participated fully in the music department ensembles and theatre productions as well. While at Messiah, Nathan joined an a cappella group known as "Ichthys."
Nathan is now entering his 3rd year of teaching & his 2nd year at Central High School in Woodstock, VA where he is the director of Choral ensembles and teaches 4th and 5th grade general music. He looks forward to continuing to achieve excellence in the Central High School music department and building on the success of achieving Superior ratings at last year’s district festival.
Nathan is thankful to have the opportunity to be a part of Sons of the Day and hopes to become a valuable asset and contribution to the group.
